I’m a Dietitian and Nutrition Consultant with over twenty five years specialist experience within the NHS and private sector, providing nutritional care of infants, children and adolescents.
Following a BSc (Hons) Nutrition degree at University of Surrey and a postgraduate diploma in Dietetics at Kings College London, I trained and began practising at Guy's and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London. I moved to Great Ormond Street Hospital to specialise in paediatric dietetics. After eight years in London, I relocated to Wales to serve as the Paediatric Dietetic Manager at Cardiff & Vale University Health Board for five years.
I then took six years out of the NHS to establish my private practice. I returned in 2019 as a highly specialist community paediatric and eating disorder’s dietitian for Cwm Taf Health Board and worked part-time to allow me to continue my growing private practice. I left CTM in 2025 to take up the position of Paediatric Dietetic Service Lead for Hywel Dda.
I’m a registered practitioner for both adults and children with B-eat (Beating Eating Disorders), maintaining close links with local NHS mental health services. I work on a voluntary and consultative basis with the Vegan Society, and as a consultant for the BBC.
I have a specialist interest in ARFID and I see many patients in my NHS and private practice requiring specialist support. I am trained in the SOS feeding method and I am experienced in food chaining. I co-wrote the British Dietetic Association ARFID Position Statement and Toolkit and our group won the Clinical Nutrition Award for Nutrition Resource of the Year 2023 for the Position Statement. I have also co-written two chapters on ARFID for two dietetic text books.
I'm registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This body regulates the dietetic profession ensuring national standards are met. In addition, I’m a member of the British Dietetic Association, serve on the Paediatric Specialist Group Committee, as well as the ARFID Sub-Group Committee, and I am a media spokesperson for the organisation.
In recent years, I've been in high demand as a guest speaker at healthcare professional events and conferences nationwide, presenting on a wide variety of subjects including ARFID, childhood obesity, growing issues in toddler nutrition, cow’s milk protein allergy, developing gut and eating disorders. I have previously taught cookery workshops to healthcare professionals to help them treat allergies. My nutrition modules and webinars are part of the curriculum for the Advanced Coaching Academy, the UK’s premier training organisation for personal fitness instructors.
With three children of my own, including one with a dairy and peanut allergy, I’m very aware of the difficulties of encouraging kids to eat a balanced diet. I’ve always been an enthusiastic cook and I have published three dairy-free cookbooks. I am a regular contributor for the BBC Tiny Happy People community on Instagram sharing weaning and toddler recipes. I also consult for the BBC Education department writing articles. My recipe for Mediterranean turkey gratin won the 'Best Dietitian Recipe' at the 2013 British Turkey Awards. This was a lovely surprise, and an opportunity for my husband and I to enjoy celebrating at the Awards ceremony at the Ritz!
